From the Model T Ford to a Hybrid Toyota Prius, from a tracphone to the smartphone, from typewriters to quad-core computer processors…technology has progressed far quicker and farther than we could have ever imagined! When I was a little boy, I remember gas being fifty cents a gallon, now it’s almost four dollars!

Let’s face it, technology is changing and it forever will be until the end of time. My guess is that it will only get bigger and better before it gets worse. Facebook has taken over the world, Google + is right behind it, everyone is checking in on Foursquare …our phones are a part of us. Think about it, what would you honestly do without your phone for a day? Most of us may answer that question with, “I would survive,”…but would you really? Think about it, everywhere you look, people are on their phones, checking Facebook, ‘checking’ into places of business, texting, tweeting and the newest development, scanning QR codes!

What are QR (Quick Response) codes, you ask? They are those little squares of black dots that are designed for the smartphone application popularly known as the ‘barcode scanner’ that allows us to get discounts, find out additional information about certain things, get coupons and much more. Everywhere you look, these little squares are popping up! Even my ten year old son knows what they are…he’s always asking me for my phone we go out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings to scan the one on their menu! lol My point is that times are changing and we need to be on the uptake of things not left in the dark. So what is my purpose of this site?

Well I decided to do a fun at home project and make a resource page of where to find these ‘QR’ codes, what you can do with them and all sorts of fun other stuff. Why? Have you ever seen those extreme coupon shoppers?? They save a lot of money finding coupons! Imagine what you could save if you were an extreme QR coder! Haha Just the other day I saw a QR code at the mall where if you scanned it you got a $5 off coupon! Now THAT’S pretty awesome!

SO, where can you find these scannable codes? Well pretty much everywhere! I have found them as I said before, at the mall, at restaurants, stores, schools, concerts, pretty much any place that you go you can find them. The other day I was at my son’s football game and they had a sign near the entrance, scan this QR code and get a free item at the concession stand…how cool!, especially since my wife forgot to make me dinner that night.:-p lol
